• the story -- the good and bad of being a competitive dancer
• depict what's involved in being a dancer
• does the dancer experience any hardships or struggles?
• what type of dance.. jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, modern
• will the focus be on a single subject? duet? trio?
• location -- wherever the subject(s) dance/practice - studio? home? school? street?
• capture the subject(s) facial expressions -important to helping relay the message/story
• focus on body language and how it can contribute to revealing info about the subject(s), and/or story
• ensure all photos connect to depicting the story -- content/subject matter, colours, background etc.

• fashion focus on bracelets and/or rings
• use a model
• ensure model is not the main focus of the photo
• don't show too much of the model (i.e. her face)
• include a visually appealing diagonal
• contrast the busy colours and materials of the jewellery with a plain and simple background
• focus on arms and/or hands
• make the overall look a statement of eccentric and over the top jewellery
• position model hands on the model... hips, shoulder, knees, hair*
• find the perfect aperture to capture bright fun colours and textures of jewellery
• AVOID shadows between model and background
